The plan: prototype, open firmware, then Kickstarter
Hello. I'm Damien, and Nobular is my new company. Our first instrument is the Sweet 16: a 4×4 grid of push-encoders with a 4" screen that shows all 16 values at once.
Why
I perform with encoder controllers and got tired of not being able to see what my knobs are set to without staring at a laptop. Sweet 16 puts every value on one screen, in one glance.
How we're building it
- Firmware first, in the open. The firmware already runs in your browser — the real code, compiled to WebAssembly. It will be open-source.
- Honest costs. We'll publish the prototype bill of materials and the production cost breakdown. No black boxes.
- Prototype → CE certification → Kickstarter. Nothing ships before it's certified.
